Freyja is the Norse version of Venus. Interestingly she’s not just the Goddess of Love but also the Goddess of War.

And mensis Martius is the only Roman month named for a God, Mars the god of war.
I know that it’s a coincidence but that is often what the weather in March seems like, as the Winter weather goes to war with the Spring weather. That’s why some of our worst storms happen now.
